Peoples Settlement Association strives to service its community through programs and services. However, we are always in need of your assistance. We gladly accept contributions and donations. As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), IRS tax exempt organization, all gifts are tax deductible.
Disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods often generate an outpouring of generosity from individuals and communities. However, small disasters occur every day in the lives of many people. Running out of food, the loss of housing, the loss of utilities, chronic/terminal health problems, the need for clean clothing and basic household items are disasters that happen to families in Wilmington daily.
Last year, Peoples Settlement Association assisted 1,800 families with emergency shelter, household items, rental funds and utilities assistance, etc. Each month over 50 people are provided with safe and healthy food. Our clothing closet helps families meet basic needs and provides men and women with appropriate interview and work attire. Often we have even been able to provide families with basic furniture to make their lives a little easier to live.
In addition to serving clients, your donation can also be used to support the many programs offered here. Your books can be used by tutors in the after-school tutoring program. Your computer can help one more child get their homework done in our computer lab. Your radio-CD player can help our day care providers teach our children. Peoples Settlement will accept any donation so long as the items are clean, intact, and in working order. Examples of items that are always in need include:

* Food
* Household items
* Furniture
* Books
* Computers & software
* Other electronics
* Vehicles
